Rivers high and muddy, creeks have potential.

  • Posted March 14, 2014
Happy Spring!  It's hard to predict what may happen over the next several days.  Warming temperatures and rain will most likely cause a continued rise in the rivers.  Also there are still ice jams in random areas throughout the Grand and Chagrin Rivers.  Paine Creek at Indian Point and the Big Creek at Liberty Hollow are starting to show some potential for fishing this weekend although that could change quickly.  Anglers need to be aware that Helen Hazen Wyman park is still closed due to flooding.  Seeley Road to Indian Point is also closed, for access to the Paine Creek here you must park in the upper lot and hike down the hill.

ODNR has rescheduled the Spring trout stocking of Veteran's Park to March 26, updates will be posted as they are received.
