Time to fish! Rainbow Trout or Steelhead
Posted October 23, 2015
It's a great time to get out and fish!
Veteran's Park
is freshly stocked with Rainbow Trout. Many reports have come in of great success catching these lively fish. Even if you don't fish, head over to Veteran's to watch the action. Multiple fly fishermen have been playing on the docks and it's truly amazing to watch them cast.
If you are looking for Steelhead we are getting reports from both the Chagrin and Grand Rivers. Even though the water is extremely low these fish are trying to head upstream. There have been some very exciting mornings on the short pier in Fairport with double digit catches. Steelhead have been reported caught as far upstream in the Grand as the Route 20 bridge. Some rain would really help at this point to bring in higher numbers. There have also been reports of success out of the Chagrin River. Check the Lake Metroparks website for multiple public access points to both of these rivers.
Nathaniel proudly shows off some awesome Steelhead out of the Grand River, see below for a link to watch one being caught.
