Schedule of activities
The Visitors Center is filled with large operating model train displays. Both HO and N-Scale layouts will be exhibited.
The Western Reserve Model Railroad Museum will operate several displays of different scales. Other featured exhibits this year include:
- Lionel O-gauge trains
- Lego train layout
- G-Scale Garden Railroad layout in the Courtyard
- Railroad photo exhibit by Ed Ribinskas
- Displays on agriculture and the railroad
Children may build a wooden train for an additional $2 fee. The wooden train interactive play area lets the youngest railroad enthusiasts play engineer.

Penitentiary Glen Reservation

Miniature steam-powered engines, provided by the Lake Shore Live Steamers, will pull passengers through the woodlands of Penitentiary Glen Reservation to the rim of the gorge from 1:00 to 3:00 pm (weather permitting).
Children will enjoy the wooden train interactive play area in the Nature Center along with the other interactive nature exhibits. Take time to enjoy the Spring Art Show. Learn about native Ohio wildlife at the Wildlife Center. Browse the Nature Store and hike the beautiful trails!

Directions
Lake Metroparks Farmpark
 Take 1-90 to Rt. 306 (Mentor, Kirtland Exit), South on Rt. 306 five miles to Euclid Chardon Rd. (Rt.6), East on Euclid Chardon Road one mile. Entrance to Farmpark is on the right
Penitentiary Glen Reservation
Take I-90 to Rt. 306 south for about one mile. Turn left onto Rt. 615. Turn right (east) onto Kirtland-Chardon Road and continue for two miles. Penitentiary Glen Reservation is located on the right (south) side of the road.
