Approximately six miles of terrain that will challenge every ability from Novice to Intermediate. The ski center is opened and staffed when weather, snow accumulation, and conditions warrant opening (four inches of snow needed to ski on).

The trails at Chapin Forest Reservation are groomed regularly.
Approximately one mile of lighted trail will be lit nightly to accommodate the skiing public, weather permitting. The lights stay on until 9 pm when the when the ski conditions
are good for skiing.
Snowshoes and cross-country skis are available for rent on a first-come, first-served basis. All rentals need to be returned by 8:00 pm when the ski center closes.

Directions: Take I-90 to Rt. 306 south for 3.5 miles to Chardon Road (Rt. 6) and turn right (west) for one mile to Hobart Road. Turn right (north) for almost l/2 mile to the park entrance located on the right (east) side of the road.
Rental equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Equipment cannot be reserved.
Equipment may be taken off Chapin Forest Reservation property to ski-able areas within Lake Metroparks. A list of ski-able areas will be supplied daily at Chapin Forest Pine Lodge.
Equipment must be returned at the end of the day it is rented unless other arrangements have been made with the ski center staff.
A driver's license is required as a deposit with all rentals.
Races courses include a 5K classic and a 10K out and back race in which participants may choose classic or skate. The 5k will begin at 9:00 am, and the 10K starts at 10:00 am Juniors (16 and under) can participate in a special 2K race designed just for them following the 10K. Snow accumulation and conditions will determine snowshoe rental availability.
Experience the Peppermint Trail, a quarter-mile loop that is just right for beginners and families and includes a complimentary peppermint stick for all.
Snowshoe Lodge in the Nature Center. Come in to relax and enjoy a cup of steaming hot chocolate, coffee or tea.
Snowshoe rentals are available 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily beginning November 8 through March 4 on an hourly and daily basis (weather dependent).
Rentals are available on a first-come basis and cannot be reserved; rentals end one hour before closing.
Hours for rentals on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve are 9:00 am to 3:00 pm and the Nature Center is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
