Locations

Sharon Conglomerate is a pebbly sandstone of the Pennsylvanian Age commonly referred to as "Lucky Stones" are quite abundant on the trail system at this location. It has long been quarried in Lake County. During the 19th Century, oxen were used to haul quarry stone and many small bridges were built with the sturdy conglomerate. The Doty Road Bridge over Mill Creek is a prime example. Until the 1970's, the northern ledges of Chapin Forest were a commercial quarry site. Evidence of the now since closed operation can still be viewed from the Scenic overlook a short hike from this cache.

Cache is located no further than 100ft off the trail.
