These recreation outreach adventures are designed for groups wishing to have an hour of outdoor fun, while in an educational setting. All equipment and instruction is provided for each of these unique recreational programs. Some programs will be at specific park locations; others can be brought to your schoolyard or other locations.
- Programs are designed for a minimum of 10 and maximum of 30 participants.
- Schools or groups of more than 30 participants can schedule back-to-back programs.
- Out-of-county programs are subject to an additional transportation fee.
- Teachers and group leaders are required to accompany the adventure.
- Programs are $4 per participant.
- All programs are weather dependent.

An entertaining adventure game for Global Positioning System beginners. Learn to use GPS units to locate coordinates to find caches or prize sites in the woods.

Planes, cars, rockets, oh my! Learn to play with others as you experience these exciting toys. Watch them fly through the air or speed along the earth.

Looking for an exciting way to end the year for your students? Try spending a day with Lake Metroparks! We offer two locations wtih a variety of activites available for you to choose from.

In 1903, the Wright Brothers made history by becoming the first people to fly a motorized aircraft. Fly a balsa airplane and see if you can beat the Wright Brothers flight distance of 120 feet. Participants do not keep airplanes.

Bubbles and balloons are for more than just blowing! Compete in bubble contests like the bubble relay and pass the bubble and discover how to make the biggest bubble with your hands. You will also make bubbles with classic household items.
Veterans Park, Mentor
This is a program that all kids will fall for hook, line, and sinker. We've got the pond, the fish, the poles, and will even bring the worms. You just bring the kids to the park for fishing. All fish caught will be released back into the water.

One, two, three, fore! Come and join us for a round of fun as we bring the experience of teeing off to your facility. We provide mats, clubs, tees, and wiffle golf balls. This adventure will give your group the experience of putting, driving, chipping, golf etiquette, and keeping score (accurately!).
Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park
You provide the kayakers,we provide the kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, and fun! In the protected waters at Fairport Harbor beach, we teach the fun-damentals of kayaking on our fleet of sit-on-top kayaks. Participants must be comfortable in the water.

Enjoy the beach air as we watch the waves roll ashore. We will build our own Styrofoam boats with mast, sail, pontoons and decorations, and then race them in a mini-boat regatta! Don't forget your swimsuit!

Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho, A pirate 's life for you! Step back in history and learn the ways of the pirates. Search Fairport Beach for the buried treasure of the Pirates of Painesville.

Travel back in time and follow our archaeologist's map along Fairport Harbor beach. The tracks lead to evidence - bones, fossils, eggs, and more!

Your group will be split up into separate tribes and asked to compete against each other in mental and physical challenges. Teamwork and leadership skills will be put to the test to determine which tribe is the ultimate "Survivor." The exact challenges will vary with each location, season and group make-up.

Collect points and flags as you negotiate the Capture the Flag course, always staying one step ahead of the other team.

Learn to love wintry life in the Snow Belt! Cross-country skiing is a great way to learn to enjoy winter and exercise, at the same time. All equipment and instruction is provided.

Learn the preferred transportation method of the Klondike: the dogsled! Our recreation dogsled classes give participants basic dogsled commands, instructions, and a chance to be the driver, the passenger, and the dogs (no actual dogs are used for this program). Everyone gets a chance to try three jobs in dogsled competitions.

Traveling by snowshoe has been around for thousands of years. It started as a way to get around to hunt or gather food. Now it's for fun! Learn to walk, turn, travel, and play snowshoe games. Wear your regular outdoor winter boots - the snowshoes fit over them. We supply the snowshoes and instruction.
Lake Metroparks Farmpark, Kirtland
It's a busy time of year for Santa, who's always looking for a few good helpers. Come to Farmpark where Santa has set up a workshop to make toys. Each child becomes an elf for an hour and builds and decorates a wooden toy. The Toymaster provides the tools, materials, and instruction needed to make the toys. Children take the toys home.
