Trail Map

This 54-acre wooded parcel in Painesville encompasses 3,300 feet of frontage on the Grand River. Named Beaty Landing,
it safeguards land for the Grand River valley’s wildlife, which includes nesting bald eagles about two miles upstream, nesting and migrating songbirds that utilize the deep, cool valley of the Grand River, and a variety of mammals, insects and invertebrates that utilize the river. In addition to habitat protection, it is within walking distance for the residents of Painesville City.

Lake Metroparks - Beaty LandingVisitors can enjoy low-impact recreational activities such as picnicking, hiking and fishing at this new park. Improvements made to enhance public use include a parking lot, restroom, and installation of a mile-long loop gravel trail with a scenic overlook and three access points to the Grand River.

Beaty Landing was one of the largest remaining parcels of privately owned open space in this stretch of the Grand River. This project was funded in part by a grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration supported by The Trust for Public Land.
