Rate: $11.00/hr. starting rate based on prior experience/education.

Under the direction of the Schoolhouse Interpretive Manager, the part-time Children’s Naturalist plans, organizes, coordinates and carries out a variety of educational programs and activities relating to natural history and resources, the environment, conservation or wildlife management specifically for children. The Children’s Naturalist trains and supervises volunteers and junior volunteers who assist in programming. Scheduled to work 28 hours per week maximum.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in natural history, education or related field, or associates degree plus equivalent four year experience. Past experience with school age children required. Must have valid drivers’ license with good record to be insurable by Lake Metroparks auto insurance. Background check required.
Desirable Traits/Skills:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Creative, flexible, and well organized. Ability to relate well with children. Must be energetic, able to lift 50 lbs., walk up and down hills and work in an outdoor setting. Ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends. Computer skills desirable.
