Are you afraid of sounds that go bump in the night? Curious about what critters have been howling after dark? Put your worries at ease and explore what makes those nocturnal noises with Lake Metroparks at Penitentiary Glen’s Hooloween: Spooky Sounds! Immerse yourself in guided night hikes, fireside story chats, and many more interactive activities and games as we explore the crepuscular chorus of Lake County’s wildlife. Enjoy refreshments and take a miniature steam engine train ride through the Jack-o-Lantern Forest!
Costumes are encouraged, but optional. Come join us for a scary good time! The ticket fee for Hoo-loween is for the entire event. All guests must be registered, including adults. Time slots are for train rides only. Trains are weather dependent; they do not run in inclement weather or poor weather-related conditions for safety reasons. No refunds, exchanges or adjustments. Note: For safety reasons, pregnant women are not permitted to ride the trains. All children must be able to sit in their own designated seat; lap sitting is not permitted. Train departure is within the hour.
