Phase I of the trail was completed in 2024, running 2,300 feet west from the boundary of Painesville Township Park, where the trail can be accessed. Phase II, completed in 2025, further extends the trail an additional 800 feet. Phase III will begin at the endpoint of Phase II then continue west along the shoreline for a little over a mile.
