Photo Contest

Each month, we will choose a new theme and ask people to post photos that fit that theme to Instagram.

To be eligible for our monthly photo contest, share your photo and tag it with #lakemetroparks and the specified tag of the month. If you forget to tag your photo it will not be entered in the contest.

At the end of each month, finalists will be chosen and sent to be judged by our Facebook fans. One photo per month will be declared the winner.

Theme: #LMcreekwalk23

It’s summertime and what better way to keep cool than to walk in a creek (or river)! We’re looking for your best photos of creek walking in our parks.

There are two ways to enter:

Instagram: Tag up to five photos with #LMcreekwalk23 and #lakemetroparks. Please tag the park location.

Facebook: Click here to add up to five photos as comments to the contest post, add the tag #LMcreekwalk23 and include the name of the park.

Entry deadline: July 31. Finalists will be posted on Lake Metroparks’ Facebook page for voting.

Photo contest process:

• Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. The judges are a panel of Lake Metroparks staff members familiar with photography and responsible for selecting images for various printed and online marketing materials.
• The judges will select up to five finalists, which will be posted for voting to Lake Metroparks’ Facebook page. Voting will take place after the monthly contest closes.
• Lake Metroparks retains the sole discretion over the selection of, and decision not to select, any particular entry as the winner.
• Lake Metroparks retains the sole discretion to cancel the contest if an insufficient number of entries are received.
• Lake Metroparks employees are not eligible to participate.

Winners of the photo contest will receive:

• Photo will be featured on our Facebook page
• Photo may be used in marketing efforts by Lake Metroparks
• A Lake Metroparks prize pack

PHOTO CONTEST RULES:

• You must have a public Instagram account.
• There is an entry limit of five photos from each person, per month.
• Photos that you submit must be your own work and you must own the rights to distribute the image.
• You must have the consent of those whose faces are visible in the image.
• By entering the contest, you authorize Lake Metroparks to use that image in our e-newsletter and other offline and online marketing materials in perpetuity without any fee or other form of compensation. Photos will be credited whenever possible.
• You will retain ownership and all other rights to your image.
• Photos can only be entered one time and cannot be resubmitted each month.
• By entering the contest, participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lake Metroparks from any issues, losses or actions emanating from or in relation to this photo contest. This would include any losses or issues related to third party claims of copyright infringement or violations of personal privacy.
• By participating in the contest you agree to the terms of these rules.
